is the security high enough  ?

Markedly D’CENT is designed to keep private keys safe from external threats. It has a variety of security safeguards in place to prevent private keys from being extracted by an attacker .  while blocking unauthorized entry attempts to the wallet.

First and foremost, the D’CENT biometric hardware wallet is the only hardware wallet on the market to feature biometric security .  requiring a fingerprint scan in order to unlock the wallet. Comparatively, most other hardware wallets require PIN entry to unlock the device.

Security

Overall the D’CENT biometric hardware wallet is also protected by a secure element, which has been certified as EAL5+ (the highest level of security against penetration tests). This is the same security chip used to secure several other hardware wallets, such as the Ledger Nano X, and is also used for securing debit and credit cards.

Undoubtedly the wallet uses a state-of-the-art Multi-IC architecture, which combines the aforementioned secure element with a secure custom-designed operating system to defend against practically every conceivable attack, including spyware, keyloggers, backdoors and more.

Although the Bluetooth connectivity technically increases the attack surface for hackers, no private keys are ever transmitted over Bluetooth, so it is unlikely hackers could siphon any useful data from these Bluetooth signals.

Stake coins on the D’CENT biometric hardware wallet

Surprisingly the D’CENT biometric hardware wallet offers an in-built browser from which you can gain access to decentralized exchanges and applications that offer unique features like staking. From the DApp browser, you can access applications on the Ethereum, Polygon, RSK, Klayton, Tron, and Binance smart chains.

There are also some testnet services accessible from the browser. You can use the DApp service by clicking the ‘Discovery’ tab at the app’s bottom menu.

Here you can find almost all FAQs around web about this product collected by Walletbaz team. also you can ask your questions, then we will answer your questions and add them into this page FAQs section

What stops the hardware wallet manufacturer from stealing my cryptocurrencies?

What stops the manufacturer of your hardware from using a backdoor and simply stealing your cryptocurrencies?

How much do you have to trust hardware wallet manufacturers? While a completely “trustless” solution is probably not possible, manufacturers are doing everything they can to minimize the need to trust them. Most of the software code of many hardware wallet manufacturers is open source, i.e. publicly available.

Anyone can check how the device works and how secrets are handled. Of course, not everyone has the ability to review code: that’s why independent researchers are often encouraged to analyze, and are often rewarded by bug bounty programs when they find something. This does not limit their ability to publish a full independent report without permission. The essentials to go: A wallet manages your secret private keys and requires full access to them.

You can and should demand full transparency about how a wallet works and ensure that independent public audits are encouraged.

Where are my cryptocurrencies actually stored?

Are my cryptocurrencies stored in the hardware wallet, or where exactly are they? This is a very good question because the answer defines what your wallet actually needs to protect. Cryptocurrencies are so named because they are secured by cryptography. For this you need a set of digital keys, for example your (very secret) private key. With this key you can encrypt and digitally sign things.

Let’s take Bitcoin as an example (other cryptocurrencies work in a similar way). The entire Bitcoin network is kept up to date by a common data structure called the blockchain. It contains records of all transactions ever made and is publicly accessible online, so anyone can read it. When you receive some bitcoins, say 0.1 BTC, you see them in your bitcoin wallet, listed under a bitcoin address.

At the same time, the bitcoins are not actually stored in the wallet, they are just an entry in the public blockchain. What the wallet stores is your secret private key that belongs to that address. Since you control that private key, you can spend those Bitcoins again: that’s how “Bitcoin ownership” is defined. Anyone can see these bitcoins, but only you can spend it, so they are yours. But that also means that *anyone* with the right private key can spend those bitcoins. Therefore, it is very important to keep this key secret.

I lost my hardware wallet. Now what?

That is not a problem. You can restore your accounts to a new hardware wallet using the recovery key you wrote down when you set it up.

IS D’CENT A GOOD WALLET ?

Yes, it is. It combines biometric security with portability and aesthetic design. On top of that, it offers access to decentralized applications and exchanges where you can stake your crypto assets even as you save them. To top it off, firmware updates are regularly released, coming out with better features that improve user experience.

CAN D’CENT WALLET BE HACKED ?

For the wallet to be hacked, the hackers would have to access your biometric wallet or access your fingerprint or PIN. That would not be the fault of the company now, would it? However we can’t say with absolute certainty that it can never be hacked.

After all, Ledger(one of the best hardware wallets) was hacked in 2020. What we can say with absolute certainty is that this wallet is one of the best.

How do you make a D’CENT wallet ?

It’s pretty easy. Follow the step-by-step instructions  in this same page on how to create a new wallet, and you’re good to go!

How do i turn off my D’CENT wallet ?

You can delete all account information on your biometric wallet by clicking on ‘Setting’, then ‘Security’, and ‘Delete Account’ on the mobile app. This does not delete your crypto assets or private keys but takes them off your screen.

How do i update my D’CENT wallet ?

To update your wallet, you need a google chrome browser running on a personal computer, a USB cable (preferably the one that came together with the biometric wallet), and the latest version of the D’cent bridge program on your PC. Once you have those, proceed as follows:

1. Connect your PC and wallet with the USB cable
2. Authenticate your biometric wallet
3. Load the D’cent bridge program
4. Press the Update to version…’ button.
5. Reboot your device

How does Dcent work?

Users can connect to their mobile device using either the supplied USB cable or via Bluetooth. D’CENT owners will need to download the D’CENT wallet app for their mobile device before the wallet can be used to send payments. The app is currently available on both iOS and Android .

Is D cent wallet a cold wallet?

The D’CENT is a cold storage wallet, which means it stores your digital coins offline. You can plug it into your smartphone or computer via USB or connect via a secure Bluetooth connection to manage your currencies.
